I love my new card sleeves, currently housing my Forging for Blightsteel deck (which you can see here on Tapped Out). They will get to see action for the first time tomorrow night.

Homebrew Thoughts: I love being janky
I love playing cards and decks that other players often scoff at. If there is one card I've noticed players at my local FNM always getting upset about pulling, it's Magnetic Mine.
I, however, feel compelled to exploit this much-hated rare. Thus, I now present you with the following deck:
I would not be surprised if you had to look up a few of the creatures, because, let's face it, this deck is pure jank. Coolstuffinc.com says the deck would cost $20.14, but they generally are a little high priced, so I'm going to price the deck at $15. I can't wait to put this together and laugh insanely at everyone else.
Edit: This clip sums up my feelings about playing this deck.

FNM Review: 3/4/11 Knowledge Ascension
I was really excited to take my Knowledge Ascension deck to FNM. I play at Collector's Corner on Harford Rd in Baltimore, MD. There was about 17 players, so we were doing 4 rounds. However, after pairings were made, 6 people showed up, but we had to stay at 4 rounds.
Round 1:
First match-up of the night was against a W/G Caw Blade deck. My goal before I arrived to FNM was to at least win my first match, start off on the right foot. Game 1 was off on the right foot. My opponent ("Big Sexy" as he's called) couldn't get enough mana out, and I had the nuts. I got my Pyromancer Ascension down rather early, and got the burn going. Knowing he had swords, I boarded in my Steel Sabotage. Game 2, however, I got rolled. His Caw Blade deck went off without a hitch and made me look bad. I dropped Knowledge Pool just before dying, but it didn't do much. On to the tiebreaker. From the start I had it going. I dropped two Pyromancer Ascensions and quickly leveled them up. I used a Foresee, copied it twice, drew tons of burn, and ended it. I made my goal.
Result: 2-1
Round 2:
The next match had me playing against U/W control. The first game? I hardly remember it because I lost so quickly. He decided not to board between games, claiming he didn't see enough of my deck. This went in my favor, as I won the second game in good time. However, his sideboard for game 3 destroyed me. I couldn't stick anything, and couldn't draw anything either.
Result: 1-2
Round 3:
I found myself playing against my friend and his, you guessed it, U/W control deck. His deck is pretty slow, relying on Frost Titan and Luminarch Ascension. Our first game took 30 minutes, but I got off enough burn (copied a kicked Burst Lightning) to finish him off. However, I forgot that his sideboard was essentially Pyromancer Ascension hate. Both games 2 and 3 started with his Leyline of Sanctity. I Dispersed it both games, but it always hit the battlefield a second time. Additionally, he had enough Revoke Existence to keep my Pyromancer Ascensions off the field.
Result: 1-2
Round 4:
Thankfully, no more U/W control. However, I played a deck I had yet to see in action, one I have wanted to see: mono blue Shape Anew. I had no idea what he was playing for most of the first game, until I saw him drop Darksteel Axe with no creatures. I saw a lot of blue, put him on counterspells, and waited to drop my Pyromancer Ascension until I had enough mana for a Mana Leak to make sure it stuck. I hit hard, and took the first game, feeling good about the next two. I boarded in my Steel Sabotage and Disperse, just in case. However, he drew more counterspells than I could handle. Both game 2 and 3 ended with a Blightsteel Colossus on his side of the field. I felt disappointed that I couldn't beat such a fragile deck.
Result: 1-2
Wrap-up:
The night started so well, only to end terribly. I did trade a couple cards for some packs, which I pulled a Blightsteel Colossus and Inkmoth Nexus from, guaranteeing I at least left with a smile. Some cards that saved me were Steel Sabotage (from sideboard) and Slagstorm. The deck has potential, but I think I need to drop the janky Knowledge Pool. At least it was fun.
